The wave-rock formation is a unique environmental phenomenon produced by wave action on a rocky shore. It is told that the wave-rock formation served as the quarry site for the distinct limestone and coral walls of the St. John Nepomucene Parish Church. It is a detrital type of sedimentary rock stratified in the colors yellow, grey, black, and reddish-brown. Dwarf mangroves have found a home among the numerous cracks and crevices. This environmental phenomenon Agfa Wave Rock is located near the town center of Tangalan, Aklan in a barangay named Agfa.

You will embrace few steps down upon you reach the Agfa Lighthouse (additional landmark of the place). The rock formation is separated by a white sand beach in the middle, so if you are a beach enthusiast you will definitely love it. The Afga Wave Rock Formation is a unique environment phenomenon resulting from wave actions against the rocks on the shore.

As its name implies, the rocks look like waves frozen into jagged stone. Upon seeing this natural attraction, one could easily imagine a mythical battle between Sea and Earth, wherein the latter thwarted the former’s onslaught of waves by transforming these into her own rock-solid defenses.
