CHICKEN INASAL FESTIVAL

Chicken Inasal Festival was also joined by indigents and street children from the area; the City Government organized it through distributing free tickets to them in order to control the crowd. The event was secured by Bacolod City Police Office’s (BCPO) personnel. Traffic enforcers were also present during the festival.

The goal of Chicken Inasal Festival is the promotion of food tourism. Aside from that, this is also one of the activities in celebrating the city’s 80th anniversary. About 3,000 pieces of chicken thighs were grilled by 25 chicken vendors in Bacolod, some of them came from the Manokan Country. The City of Bacolod held its first Chicken Inasal Festival on Saturday, May 5, in celebration of its 80th charter anniversary.

Over 3,000 sticks of chicken were grilled by 25 inasal food companies on a 300-meter long grill that was set up along the road from the Golden Diamond Jubilee Tower at Bacolod Plaza to San Sebastian Street in a bid to create a new Guinness world record.  The city, however, failed make a world record this year because it was not able to comply with the requirements due to the lack of time.   Read More: https://www.mindanaopress.net/2018/05/09/bacolod-holds-festival-for-famous-chicken-inasal/

The second year celebration of the inasal festival last Saturday benefitted 3,000 senior citizens from all 61 barangays in the city. They were given free tickets to join the boodle fight with the city government officials and other guests.
