HAVING A FUN TIME IN LEYTE

There are many enjoyable activities to choose from when you are in Leyte. These activities range from simple volleyball games on the beach, to a more adventurous deep sea diving and other challenging activities. They provide endless fun for daring individuals and enjoyment even for the whole family. Below is a list of possibilities, but there can be much more for everyone’s choice.

Kayaking

The guitar-shaped Lake Danao in Ormoc remains to be one of the island’s most popular natural sites. It is located 700 meters (2,296 feet) above sea level, offering a climate cooler than most of the province. You can go for a refreshing swim in the tranquil water or rent a kayak and explore the rest of the area. Kayaks are available for rent at around 6 USD per hour. The same rate applies to the floating cottages, which include a grill. Get ready to be enthralled by the sight of the surrounding mountains and volcanic rocks.  Read More:  https://trip101.com/article/best-things-to-do-on-leyte-island-philippines

Ziplining

Most of us in the group had tried flying by zip-lines several times in the past. Some of us were able to fly by cables in Dahilayan Park of Bukidnon and over the Madlum River in San Miguel, Bulacan. But, interestingly, the excitement and the boiling adrenaline rush that we felt this time were no different!

Who would dare to underestimate Agas-agas Adventure Park’s extreme sports that hangs you in the air for a two-kilometer long wire, in atmost 377 feet height above the ground, and zips you down at a speed of 160-kilometer per hour? The Agas-agas Bridge Zip-line is considered as the fastest, for us the steepest, and definitely one of the longest zip-lines in the country.  Read More:  http://thebackpackersadventures.blogspot.com/2012/10/sogod-southern-leyte-zip-southern-leyte.html

Whale Shark Watching

Whale shark snorkeling with Padre Burgos Castle Resort offers you undoubtedly the best whale shark experience in the Philippines. There are very few tourists around, so the whale shark sanctuary is always uncrowded, the water visibility is usually excellent, snorkeling with the whale sharks is a totally natural experience, and sound ecological practices are strictly observed. The whale shark season in Southern Leyte usually starts around early November and, in a good season, runs through until the end of May, but can end much earlier without warning. The chances of seeing whale sharks during the season are very good, but some seasons are more reliable than others – check our Whale Shark News page for current information.
