MATUKAD ISLAND

Matukad is one of the smaller islands off the coast of the Caramoan peninsula. Like many islands in the area, its beaches and surrounding waters are freckled with towering limestone cliffs. But they are not even its biggest selling point. What many visitors love about Matukad Island is its fine, fine sand that can definitely give Boracay a run for its tourist money. I can’t utter words specifically designed for the powder fine sand of Matukad Island. There was an electrifying effect when my right foot touches the sand of Matukad Island. The resulting action of the specific feeling was to walk barefoot to give in to natures invitation.

Everywhere I turned to is white – excluding the vivid colors of the plants and rock formations – with portions of crushed shells and corrals which actually gave more characteristic to the small shore of the island. Matukad Island is perfect for beach goers who want to lay on the sand and play with the pristine waters – beach bumming. There are portions in the shore where one can hide from the sun’s tremendous heat especially during summer season in the Philippines.

Matukad is not just known for its fine sand and glamorous vista of rock formation, Matukad is Matukad because you have to climb in order to be awed once again by Matukad Island shore line and waters. Matukad Island is one of the small island in Caramona Camarines Sur. With its crystal clear water, powder like fine sand and rock formation. This is a perfect paradise, unspoiled and untouched by commercialism. There is also a hidden lake inside the rock formation of the Island where yo can see the mystical “Bangus Lake” but of course we haven’t tried to unveil the mystery due to time constraint.
