Mahabang Buhangin Beach is the most popular beach to campers and backpackers at Tinaga Island. The beach offers powdery white sands comparable to that of Boracay island in Malay, Aklan.

Tinaga is an island located in Vinzons, Camarines Norte, Philippines. It is one of the two major islands in the Calaguas Group of Islands, about eight kilometers long.

Mahabang Buhangin or Halabang Baybay is a gorgeous long stretch of white sand and pristine waters in Tinaga Island, Bicol Region. This is part of the Calaguas Group of Islands in Camarines Norte, Philippines.

You can be captured by its beauty! This unspoiled island has very clear water with seems to have little gems when stroked by the sun that sparks and can truly amaze you. Not to mention, the fine white sand is gorgeous! 

You can do kayak, snorkeling, hiking, sunset viewing, beach volleyball, photo shoot, soul searching, walking along the long shoreline and a lot more. There are plenty of activities you can do that can make your stay worthwhile. Please note that there is no phone signal in the island. There is a generator that can give light at night. Before you get to Mahabang Buhangin in Calaguas Islands, you will first have to ride a boat. But for those who are sea sick, fear not for there are many views that will make the trip less stressful. Rock formations, hills on the horizon, and even fishes that can be easily seen in the clear water are just some of the things that one must look forward to on the way to Mahabang Buhangin.

The name “Mahabang Buhagin” actually consists of two Filipino words, “mababa”, meaning “long”, and “buhangin”, which is the Filipino term for “sand”. The beach indeed has a long stretch of grains of sand, thus the name.
