Dueñas, Iloilo will hold its annual Anihan Festival the whole of September. The festival is in honor of their Patron Saint Jerome for the good harvest and the courage he bestows the people of Dueñas during months of trials. The people rejoice for the rich harvest of rice and crops, hence the joyous feasts and dances. The colourful event showcases street and interpretative dancing manifesting the town’s customs and traditions. Other events include Miss Anihan Coronation Night, parades, agro-industrial fair, food festival, native food fair, bazaars, band nights, socials and Laro ng Lahi. Sept 25 to Sept 30 in Dueñas is a special, it is the start of the harvest of many agricultural crops. This is the last day of the month where the feast in honor of the Patron, St. Jerome.  The week-long celebration is a way of thanksgiving after having a good harvest and surpass the trials and cries during lean months.

The ANIHAN FESTIVAL started in CY 2003. The main feature is the Tribe Competition which is characterized by an interpretative dance depicting the practice , street dancing and customs and traditions of the Dueñasanons.
This is an expression of thanksgiving for abundant production of agricultural crops. Likewise, to add color to the festivity, search, a parade with float and muses of the contesting tribes, and coronation of Miss Anihan are also being conducted.

Other activities include agro-industrial fair, food festival, garden show, and games like “Laro ng Lahi”.
This is to showcase the different varieties of native foods, ornamental plant and delicacies, and thriving agricultural crops in the municipality. This September, the Municipality of Dueñas celebrates abundance as they celebrate the 11th Anihan Festival.

Usually opened with a grand parade, street dancing and Anihan group presentation, the local government is expecting more tribes to participate this year. Another two will be added from the official six from the previous year.
