The exact location of Apocalypse Now is named after the famous line of the film. Remember “Charlie, don’t surf”?

It also has both right-hand and left-hand breaks (right-hand: a wave that breaks from left to right, surfer turns right to catch the wave) but with medium-sized waves. If Sabang gets too packed with student surfers, Charlie’s Point is the next best place to go since it’s also a beach break.

Found at the mouth of Aguang River, Charlie’s Point is an half hour walk from Sabang Beach and a few minutes’ tricycle ride from town proper. Read More: http://www.choosephilippines.com/do/adventures-and-sports/1741/Baler-Aurora-surfing-spot-beach/

Our destination: The Conservatory at Charlie’s Point, Aurora, which is the brainchild of The Easy Adventure by Carsy Araneta and her partner Paolo Villacorta.

You may have heard of Charlie’s Point if you’ve watched Francis Ford Coppola’s 1979 film Apocalypse Now since it was filmed in the area. Check these views out!

We are about 15 minutes away from Sabang Beach, which is more crowded than here. If anything, this idyllic location is, as I’ve mentioned earlier, secluded and quiet. If you’re an experienced surfer, this location is also perfect for you since the surf is strong enough that you won’t need to go to Sabang Beach to enjoy the waves.  Read More:  https://pinoylng.wordpress.com/2015/05/17/camping-surfing-and-chillin-at-the-conservatory-at-charlies-point-baler-aurora/

Charlie’s Point: The Reel Deal
Aside from having been filmed as a set location for Coppola’s ‘Apocalypse Now’, Charlie’s Point has a lot more to offer beyond its reel deal. Walking  distance from Sabang Beach, Charlie’s Point has become quite the secret surf spot; as locals head out to its break when it becomes too much of a surf party in Sabang. Its sandy bottom also frees the worrisome surfer of nasty reef collisions.  Read More:  http://www.juice.ph/outoftown/features/sembreak-season-road-trip-destination-tips-1

Yes, we all know how the movie Apocalypse Now played a role in catapulting this serene Baler beach to fame. As a matter of fact, it’s been mentioned in every Charlie’s Point write-up imaginable, including here. From the scene where Robert Duvall utters the famous line “I love the smell of Napalm in the morning”, Charlie’s Point has always had to live with the shadow of Francis Ford Coppola’s famous film looming behind it. But that shouldn’t be the selling point of this beach. There’s a lot more than just being in a hit movie that has helped Charlie’s Point be one of the most recognizable beaches in Baler, Aurora.  Read More:http://lokalsoul.com/2010/08/12/charlie%E2%80%99s-point-baler-%E2%80%93-more-than-just-a-hollywood-setting/#sthash.F0uP9eb2.dpuf
