The tunnel seemed to be 3 feet in height in most areas and 4 feet in some, so I had to bend down to my waist (I stand 5’7.5″) in the duration of my tunnel exploration which did not last more than 15 minutes. The caretaker shared that the L-shaped tunnel was originally longer back in WWII when it was said to stretch all the way to the city’s municipal hall. Joroan Church

The Our Lady of Salvation Parish Church and Diocesan Shrine is a modest-sized church prominent for the place of the annual pilgrimage to the Heavenly Patroness of Albay, the Nuestra Señora de Salvacion. Also known as the Joroan Church, it is a century-old church located in Brgy. Joroan, in the small town of Tiwi, and is one of the heritage churches in the province.

The name Nuestra Señora de Salvacion, also recognized as the Our Lady of Light, is an exceptional title given to Virgin Mary in her very special role as the Co-Redemptrix of humanity. The Marian devotion to the Nuestra Señora de Salvacion is based on a wooden image of the Blessed Virgin Mary originally from Joroan.  Read More:http://leeaboutourdoors.blogspot.com/2013/06/our-lady-of-salvation-church-and.html
