The island gets its name from its shape which resembles a helicopter.  This is on one side of Helicopter Island.  The rocks create a different look and texture to your beach photos.

Unknown to many, this island is actually frequented by a couple of Pawikan Turtles.  They feed on the sea bed just by the edge before the floor slopes steeply.  You’ll have to swim a little farther out than usual just to spot them but once you do, you’ll be greatly rewarded.  It’s an opportunity to see the turtles feeding on their natural environment.   Ask your boatman to help you spot them.  The guides at El Nido Boutique and Art Cafe are great at spotting them.  Read More:   http://myfriendsunjun.blogspot.com/2012/06/el-nido-island-hopping-tour-c-el-nido.html
