Mt. Igcuron in Binangonan, Valderrama, Antique is definitely one of the most beautiful mountains I have climbed. Rising at an altitude of 437 meters, it stuns everyone who visits the town of Valderrama. Rice paddies adorn the jump-off point of the mountain. The saw toothed summit(s) and the 90 degree cliffs are the prominent features of the mountain. Read More: http://trekero.blogspot.com/2015/04/mt-igcoron-in-valderrama-antique.html

Mt. Igcoron’s ridge looks like a high-elevated balance beam and we, the inexperienced gymnasts. Locals crossed the ridge with perfect execution. They exactly knew where to put their feet, where the soft earth lies, where the fragile rocks are.

Dry season brings Mt. Igcoron back to its naked brown self―stripped from its green grandeur. The locals affirmed  it is harder assaulting Mt. Igcoron during this season since there is nothing to hold. With its steepness, I do not think it is possible to be overly confident with one’s footing. Hands have equal importance with feet.

Igcoron’s grass―we called it napir at home, they called it giron―provides a dependable support. One should be ready with paper cuts and rushes especially with no gloves, arm sleeves, and trekking pants or leggings on.  Read more https://backpackingwithabook.com/mt-igcoron-understanding-ones-place/

In the midst of the beautiful Antique landscape are some of the greatest mountains in the country. There’s Madia-as, the highest in Panay Island whose name evoke reverence and awe even among the experienced mountaineers. Along with Nangtud and Baloy, they complete a physically demanding trilogy and a rich spiritual experience.

And along the rise and fall of the valleys and the revered mountains are many other beautiful ones. One of these is Mt. Igcoron, a rising star of landscape located in the municipality of Valderrama. From the jump off point, the muddy rice paddies reflect its intimidating jagged seven peaks like some dragon fortress in a fantasy movie.   Read More:   https://www.panaynews.net/dalming-7/
