Watching of whale sharks in Oslob Cebu is 99% guaranteed. Whale sharks can be seen in a small barangay Tan-awan, which is 10 km away from the center town of Oslob. Whale shark watching in Cebu started last September 2011 and it became popular all over the world when the news hit in the internet last November 2011. By December 2011, local fishermen’s interact with the whale sharks by feeding them that result to flocking of tourist to the beach of Tan-awan. Large numbers of tourists began arriving in Oslob not just to see the whale sharks being fed but also to snorkel or dive with them. Read More: http://www.oslobwhalesharks.com/

The short distance we had covered was why we were slightly surprised when it was finally time to jump in the water and begin our swim with the whale sharks. But we wouldn’t hesitate any longer. After 19 months of travel, we’d finally had our chance to tick this once-in-a-lifetime experience off our list. So, overly excited, we dove right on in, flip-flops in all!

It was only a matter of seconds for the huge sharks to come into view. I was so thrilled that I almost couldn’t decide which to swim over to. I felt like a confused dog having to choose between his favorite toy or a delicious treat. Both good options, but I just picked one and swam as quickly as I could in its direction. I couldn’t believe how close we could view the whale sharks that we seemingly stumbled right on to. We were able to swim right up to the world’s largest shark to have an up-close and personal look.

It was absolutely magnificent. Incredible.  Read More:  http://www.roamingaroundtheworld.com/snorkeling-with-whale-sharks-in-the-philippines/

These Whale sharks are actually the largest shark in the world. People called it a whale shark because of its enormous size (like a whale), not because it’s a type of whale. It is just being called a Whale shark because of the close resemblance they have to whales. They are characterized by their flattened head, wide mouth, and docile nature.

Upon reaching the viewing area, I was really amazed on what i saw. There are so many whale sharks surrounding our boat and some of them are just following other boats for food. What I like in Oslob is that you don’t have to dive deep just to see the whale sharks as they are visible in the shallow and clear waters.

The excitement of the occasion has been known to cause some people to jump in the water and swim with the whale sharks, as they are not dangerous to humans. If you ever dare, just remember to steer clear of the huge tail fin and its big mouth. Although I stayed on the boat while the rest are swimming, I still enjoyed Whale watching since they are very visible from where I was seated.  Read More:  https://outoftownblog.com/whale-watching-oslob-cebu/
