Aurora is one of the most popular provinces in the Philippines when we talk about Tourism. Tourist Spots in Aurora, mostly in Baler, became its pride and one of them is the place where Surfing in the Philippines was born.

Diquisit Rock Formation

What nature has made with its tools (air, water, land) on the template of the earth is both awe-inspiring and astonishing. It is perhaps in the form of substantially verdant forests, grand and towering mountains, pristine beaches or even spectacular lakes and waterfalls. As a nature-lover, I almost always desire to splurge some time with nature. I am personally fascinated by rocks – big or small.

Aurora Province, being a coastal province, is dotted with uniquely shaped and sculpted rock formations. These add up to the province’s stunning landscapes and seascapes. Truly, the unbounded diversity of the Philippine’s physical forms will take your breath away.  Read More:  https://roamulofied.wordpress.com/2015/05/20/diguisit/

Dona Aurora Quezon House

Aurora Quezon was the wife of the former Philippine President Manuel Luis Quezon, first President of the Republic of the Philippines. She had a very simple life and devoted to charities. She became the first lady of the republic of the Philippines from 1935 to 1944. She was also known and well loved figure among  Filipinos simply because of her involvement in many humanitarian activities.

Aurora Quezon was born to Pedro Aragon and Zeneida Molina on February 19, 1888 in Baler, a remote coastal town in Tayabas which is now Aurora Province. When the President died, she turned down the pension awarded to  her by the government, so that the money  be used for war widows and orphans. Even the Communist-led Hukbalahaps, who spread terror through the mountains of Central Luzon, could find no word to say against  Aurora. And on the morning of April 28, 1949 , She and her daughter baby were assassinated when she left her home to open a new hospital. It was such a tragic death when a gunfire emerged on the road targeting her vehicle. Mrs Quezon, her daughter and Bernardo, Mayor of Quezon were killed instantly. And after the assassination the province was named after her memory.

The house is still standing on an average sized corner lot. A noticeable wooden house wrapped with nipa roofs. The house looks like an old traditional Filipino style homes. At the back it has an open area connecting to a small garden.  Read More:  http://www.juanderfulpinoy.com/dona-aurora-quezons-baler-house/

Located in Poblacion, Baler, Aurora. This quiet park of trees and lawns was developed in honor and in memory of the late president Manuel L. Quezon. A marker fenced by concrete and set on a circular cement platform serves as a landmark of Baler, the birthplace of Quezon. A replica of the house where Quezon grew up could be found at Quezon Park (Casa de Maestro Lucio Quezon).
