Peñalosa Farms is located right at the center of Victorias City, behind a shopping mall. The farm produces certified organic fruits, vegetables and herbs. Peñalosa Farms is an integrated farm thus livestock is part and parcel of the business model. Even with their hogs and chickens, there is no foul odor coming from their farm. Mon uses probiotic feeds to attain optimum growth for his pigs. The pork, chicken and eggs that he produce are hormone and antibiotic-free.

Aside from the farm products, Peñalosa Farms is a destination for farm tourism and training. Guests are often welcomed with native delicacies and a 5-herb tea which contains Ashitaba for improved blood circulation, Taheebo the fat metabolizer, Gotukola the memory enhancer, Peppermint the breath freshener and Calamansi for Vitamin C. These herbs are all grown at Peñalosa Farms. Read More: https://www.experiencenegros.com/penalosa-farms/

From the highway, a windmill and a “burrow-like” (Ron Weasley’s house in Harry Potter) house will easily catch your attention.

As you enter the gate of the Peñalosa Farms, leaves of different vegetables and herbs will peek out.  Vertical, horizontal, container gardens, name it…every available space is utilized. Herbs, vegetables, flowers, trees, pigs, hens, ducks, and fish share this organic integrated farm.

The “burrow-like” house that you see from the highway is called Balai-Balai and is surrounded by greens. It also serves as a “dormitory” for those who need to stay in the farm when they avail themselves of Mr. Ramon Peñalosa’s experience and lessons on organic and probiotic farming.

A one-day introductory seminar on sustainable agripreneurship is by appointment only.   Read More:  https://www.choosephilippines.com/stay/relaxation-and-wellness/1601/100-percent-organic-farming-at-the-penalosa-farms

Penalosa Farms is a privately owned organic farm which promotes the use of natural farming systems and pesticide-free vegetables and livestock agriculture. The farm is owned by the Penalosa family, who are staunch advocates of the concept of “edible landscape”.

Seminars are open to LGUs, farmers or even city slickers who wants to learn and earn by farming without the need for commercially made pesticides.

Penalosa Farms is located 30 minutes north of Bacolod City in Victorias, which is more popularly known as the locale of the sugar producing behemoth, the Victorias Milling Company.

“No Filipino will go hungry in his native land” is an apt catchphrase for the Penalosa Farms’ noble quest to educate people that there is money to be made in farming. Read More: http://t3centrebacolod.blogspot.com/2015/03/penalosa-farms-in-victorias-city-negros.html
