Tamaraw Falls got its name from the word “tamaraw”, a water buffalo endemic to the island of Mindoro. One of the more popular destinations in Puerto Galera, Tamaraw Falls is a twin waterfall about three storeys high. The waterfall lies next to Nautical Highway, runs under a bridge, and cascades through man-made pools below. Tamaraw Falls faces the mountainside, where one can enjoy a refreshing view of the forest. While it is free to hangout at the bridge and take photos of the waterfall, swimming in the area has a fee. Other facilities in the area can be rented out. These include kiosks, tables, barbecue grills, and an assembly hall. While the management of Tamaraw Falls does not sell food items, snacks and drinks are sold along the highway. You will find that the Tamaraw Falls is a series of smaller waterfalls that combine and make up the larger waterfall that flows down the mountain into a refreshing pool that you can jump into if you are feeling up to it. check out the picture below to see exactly what we are talking about.

You can use the public area at the foot of the falls where guests of the falls can be refreshed in the cool and clean water. You’ll also find picnic huts and shower rooms here making it the perfect retreat for family and friends on those extra warm and humid days. Entrance is P 25 per person and considering the atmosphere and the build of the area, completely worth the money to get the chance to relax in this oasis of a waterfall pool and really enjoy a piece of island paradise. I think it’s an excellent location to put your video and photography skills to the test as I did below. Read More:  https://badladz.com/visiting-tamaraw-falls-in-puerto-galera-oriental-mindoro/

Tamaraw Falls is one of Puerto Galera’s most popular attractions. This majestic natural wonder has a height of 423ft (128.3m) which can be compared to a tall building. It has a unique Y-shape due to its twin falls merging together. Flowing strong and wild, it’s definitely a fascinating sight that is worth a visit.

It was named after Mindoro’s most popular animal which is the tamaraw. It is a dwarf buffalo that can only be found in the Philippines. There used to be a lot of them in Mindoro but unfortunately, it’s now listed as one of the endangered species. Naming the falls after the tamaraw is a great way to spread awareness about this rare animal and promote their preservation.  Read More: https://www.wonderingwanderer.com/tamaraw-falls-puerto-galera-oriental-mindoro/
