Enjoy the Scenic Puting Buhangin Beach in Quezon

Located in the Pagbilao Grande area, this pure white sand beach, with crystal-clear and calm water, is a favorite place in Pagbilao during the summer months. The white sand beach is about 70 meters long and 10 meters wide. A small cave is found at one end of the beach. It is located at Pagbilao Grande, Pagbilao, Quezon.

We’ve seen pictures of this cove before but were surprised to discover how beautiful it is in real life. Maybe because we didn’t have high expectations after having visited some of the most beautiful beaches in the country but Puting Buhangin (“white sand” in Filipino) is the most scenic of all the beaches we’ve covered on our Padre Burgos-Pagbilao trip. People on the Internet have often referred to this particular cove as Puting Buhangin but our boatman said that the name Puting Buhangin refers to the whole row of beaches and coves on Pagbilao Grande Island that we’ve seen on the way here. It was just a pity we had the time to stay in only one since the other beaches also look nice.

Locals call the beach where we landed Lukang Beach after its owner – a Chinese businessman based in Lucena City. Its fine white sand and crystal clear emerald waters enticed us into spending considerable time lazing around and taking photographs. The area immediately in front of the beach is clear of rocks and coral and therefore ideal for swimming although one can venture into the rocky areas on both ends of the cove for some snorkeling.  Read More: https://www.vigattintourism.com/tourism/articles/Pagbilao-Puting-Buhangin-Beach-and-Kwebang-Lampas

Called Lukang Beach by the locals after its previous owner, Puting Buhangin Beach is located at Pagbilao Grande Island and just at the back of the Pagbilao power plant. You can actually walk to this beach from the power plant or ride a boat from Padre Burgos town.

Some of the things that endeared us to Puting Buhangin during our initial visit was its pristine white sand, the verdant vegetation surrounding the beach and the crystal-clear aquamarine and turquoise waters. We also remember seeing just a few huts for rent and not much else. We had the beach pretty much all to ourselves, although that may be because we arrived during the rainy season.  Read More: https://shoestringdiary.wordpress.com/2016/06/21/puting-buhangin-beach-and-kwebang-lampas-summers-last-hurrah-in-pagbilao-quezon/
