Jack’s Ridge

JACK’S Ridge is one of the most popular recreational and dining destinations in Davao City. It sits on top of a high and very steep slope, overlooking the scenic expanse of Davao City and the Gulf of Davao. The place is located on a high mountain slope at Shrine Hills, Matina, Davao City.
The place was once the headquarters of the Japanese Imperial Army during World War II, which served as their watchtower against the American forces. Today, Jack’s Ridge still preserves mementos of its historic past: the warplane crash sites; Japanese-dug tunnels where gold bullions and other treasures were believed to be still buried; and even prehistoric clam shells which testify that the area was once underwater millions of years ago.  Read More:  http://davaocitybybattad.blogspot.com/2011/07/jacks-ridge.html

Japanese Tunnel

After World War II, the legend of the Yamashita treasure seduced many treasure hunters to Davao, particularly in Mintal, Tugbok District (now declared as the Japanese Heritage Site of the City), where hiding places for the war loots were supposedly buried deep underground within numerous foxholes and crisscrossing tunnels built by soldiers and prisoners of war.

D’ Japanese Tunnel Family Resort and Restaurant along Hillcrest Subdivision, Diversion Road in Matina Balusong. Owned by the Lim family, the manmade hideout said to be built in 1942 and accidentally discovered during the national highway’s construction in the 60s has now expanded into a family hotel and restaurant with a swimming pool for kids.  Read More:  https://kodakerdabawenya.com/2014/02/05/japanese-tunnel-in-davao/

Kaputian Beach

Summer heat makes people busy indulging beaches and people can’t help enjoying waves under the sun. One popular island here in Davao del Norte is the Samal Island, known to have numerous beautiful white sand beach resorts.

Kaputian Beach Park Resort gave me a great summer experience. With its finest white sand, beautiful cottages and indulging water but please take note of this – Kaputian Beach Park has a lot of sea urchins.

Kaputian Beach Park might be perfect not just only for summer but also for photo shooting. Kaputian Beach Park Resort is one of a common and most visited resort in Samal Island. They cater snorkeling and other water sports at an affordable price. Read More:  http://iwanderphilippines.com/kaputian-beach-park-resort-samal-island/
