AWESOME BEACHES IN ILOCOS SUR

The province of Ilocos Sur welcomes you to its collection of magnificent beaches:

Santiago / Sabangan Cove

In the small town of Santiago, Ilocos Sur, lies a small patch of paradise-like cove called the Sabangan Cove, or more known as the Santiago Cove. It is also dubbed as the “Boracay of Ilocos Sur” because of its white sands.

The coast, spanning almost a kilometer long, boasts with white sands and calm waters that make it perfect for swimming. During the high sun, you can see the white fine sands that slowly dissolve when stepped on. During evenings, the water’s temperatures are just right for those who want to bathe. And being in a cove surrounded by reefs, strong waves are calmed down before reaching the shore.

Surrounding the beachline are rows of the cabana, painted with different colors, that were built by the local government. Commonly, it is occupied with eateries or stores selling sea products. During evenings, electric lighting illuminates the beach. There are also cottages that can be rented.  Read More:  http://www.tupanggala.com/santiago-cove/

Sinait Beach

What I particularly loved about this beach is that it’s completely devoid of the presence of tourists. It was such a local beach, where families hang out to spend their weekends – where kids swim in their shirts and shorts (yes, that’s how we swam as kids too), where the courageous sing their hearts out in the karaoke machine, and where the older folks chill out to drink and be merry. – http://www.eagerexplorer.com/2014/02/relaxing-in-sinait-ilocos-sur/

Mindoro Beach

On this second visit, I was totally mesmerized by Mindoro Beach. I have no idea that Vigan City has a beach, let alone a black sand beach. I know how rare these kinds of beaches are, and it was the first time for me to experience such.

Although foreign tourists will die for a black sand beach, this kind of sand, however, is not very popular with the Filipino beach-goers. And it is quite apparent during our visit; there were hardly anyone on the beach except us and three locals body slamming with the waves. We literally have the whole stretch of Mindoro Beach just for ourselves. – http://www.lakadpilipinas.com/2014/09/mindoro-beach-vigan-black-sand.html
