El Toro Festival is a Parade of Colorful Costumes and Floats

The week-long celebration commemorating the 60th Founding Anniversary of the municipality of Polanco was formally opened on December 1 despite light rain.

The opening program was kick-off with a grand and colorful costume parade participated by the different contingents such as the LGU officials and employees, national agencies employees, teaching staff from the DepEd Polanco I & II, Polanco National High School and her annexes, barangay officials including sectoral groups, non-government organizations and other peoples organizations.

With the municipality turning 60 years old this Dec. 8, the municipal government is now spearheading a week long celebration of El Toro Festival with a number of activities.

A grand and colorful costume parade participated by municipal officials and employees, national government agencies (NGAs), teachers and students of elementary and secondary schools, barangay officials, non-government organizations (NGOs) and other stakeholders kicked off the celebration Thursday.

Farm cart floats loaded with different kinds of farm produce were paraded around the municipality.  Drum corps competitions, fireworks display, the presentation of the 30 candidates vying for “Mutya ng Polanco” title and others were also held.  The “El Toro” festival showdown will be held at the playing ground of Polanco Central School.   Read More: http://ugnayan.com/ph/ZamboangadelNorte/Polanco/ArticleView/14JY
