Crocolandia is another must-visit destination in the province of Cebu. The mini-zoo/park, which is the first of its kind in the region, is located in Biasong, Talisay City.

It was founded in 2001, by the Crocolandia Foundation Inc., which is a non-profit, non-stock private organization focused on nature and wildlife conservation.

The park provides a habitat for endangered and endemic animals. It is now home to varieties of mammals, birds and reptiles. A huge majority of its animal population is made up of different species of crocodiles, which obviously accounts for its name. In fact, the park’s most famous resident is a six-meter long saltwater crocodile named after our very own hero, Lapu-Lapu. The Crocolandia Foundation Inc is a nature conservation center established in 2001 in Talisay City, Cebu. The Crocolandia Park is home to a number of animals including birds, snakes, lizards and crocodiles. Its main objective is to protect and breed endangered animals, including the Philippine crocodile and sailfin lizard. The park highlights the importance of protecting the rich biodiversity of the Philippines.

The most famous resident of the park is an estuarine crocodile named Lapu-Lapu. The park also houses squirrels, monitor lizards, deer, turtles, ostriches, civets and a Visayan warty pig, among others.

Aside from the animals housed at the Crocolandia Park, it also has a library and museum right in the middle of the premises. The library is located on the second floor of the building. Visitors can read through the books about animals and nature in general. The museum has a number of preserved crocodile and deer bones on display. The bones of the animals were preserved for display and research purposes.  Read More:  http://www.peanutbrowas.com/blog/born-to-be-wild-visiting-crocolandia

Crocolandia Park is operated by Crocolandia Foundation, Inc. was founded way back year 2001 in Biasong, Talisay City, Cebu – with its aim as a conservation center for endangered animals. As a wildlife conservation center, it is responsible for protecting and breeding area for endemic and those animals threatened with extinction such as Saltwater Crocodiles (Crocodylus porosus) and the Sailfin Lizards that can be found only in countries like Philippines, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea.

It is a home also for animals like civets, rufous hornbill, ostrich, monitor lizards and many others. Crocolandia Park or “Crocolandia” for short, is known for its mini-zoo, ponds, library and museum therefore kids and even adults would love to visit. I would say that this Park, even if it is just considered a small farm or a mini-zoo; it is one of the best tourist attractions in the whole town of Cebu when it comes to nature and wildlife sanctuary. It is the best place to visit together with your family and friends.  Read More:  https://cebuanoexplorer.com/crocolandia-park-talisay-city-cebu/
