Pabirik (Gold-Panning) Festival Honors the Gold Mining Industry

The Pabirik Festival highlights the “pabirik” (gold-panning) street dancing which depicts the gold mining industry in the province. Held every January 23 – Feburary 2 in Paracale, Camarines Norte, this coincides with the Foundation Anniversary of the town’s patron saint, Our Lady of Candelaria.

The Pabirik Festival is celebrated every last week of January up to the day of town fiesta on the second day of February. The highlight of the event is the Pabirik Street Dancing Competition. All schools in Paracale competed showing different representation how Nuestra Señora De Candelaria defended the town against the Moro invaders.
