Gigantes Islands also known as Islas de Gigantes (Islands of Giants) will put a smile even on the most grumpy face. This group of pristine islands consisting of about ten islands (including the two largest: Gigantes Sur and Gigantes Norte) is the second most underestimated dreamlike destination I found at the Province of Iloilo. Well Gigantes Islands are not a hidden gem compared to Concepcion however not so many tourists know about them probably due their remote location at the northernmost point of Iloilo Province.

In this article I’ll will share with you the best and most enjoyable way to travel to and around Islas de Gigantes and not worry about a thing. I am also sharing my insights of the highlights of this place as well as give you information about the prices, transportation, accommodation followed by some useful travel tips at the end of the article. The Gigantes Islands, also known as Islas de Gigantes or the islands of giants, is a remote group of islands located off the coast of Carles and Estancia towns in northeastern Iloilo, Philippines. It takes at least 5 hours to get there from Iloilo City. Those willing to go the “extra mile” can look forward to enjoying beautiful seascapes and a laid-back island lifestyle that Gigantes has to offer. Despite the increase of tourist arrivals in recent years, Gigantes has retained its off-beat charm and remains relatively underdeveloped compared to Boracay, Bohol, and other mainstream tourist destinations in the Philippines.  Read More:  http://www.exploreiloilo.com/guide/islas-de-gigantes/

Sitting in the northeastern tip of Panay Island, Isla de Gigantes is making a buzz among backpacking enthusiasts – seemingly inclining its trend towards popularity. The once unknown is making its name to the list of Philippine scenic destinations – competing with other new comers on the rise. I can’t say its virgin since the locals had long been scouting its beautiful territories before any outsiders do.

Isla de Gigantes is comprised of two main island groups namely; Gigantes Norte and Gigantes Sur. The lighthouse erects in Gigantes Norte and is the home to Baquitan and Langub Cave, Langub beach, and Gigantes National Museum. Gigantes Sur, on the other hand, is an island hopping haven and is the turf of the picturesque, Cabugao Gamay. Read More:  http://www.freedomwall.net/travel/things-to-do-in-isla-de-gigantes/
