Puerto Galera is not  only a major sports diving and sailing destination, but it also offers the gentleman’s sport of golf.     The Ponderosa Golf Club is a 9 hole course but it is located on the mountain side overlooking Puerto Galera.  It offers a serious challenge playing with jungle on all sides.  It also gives a panoramic view of the surrounding islands all the way to the mountains.

Hiking / Mountain Climbing

Mt. Malasombo is a favorite hiking place in Oriental Mindoro.  It is located in Puerto Galera and it will take more than two days to reach the summit.  The Puerto Galera Mountain trail cuts along the mountains, making it a very exciting climb.  Mt. Malasombo has a dome-shaped summit; the trails initially go steep but after that the obstacles are few.
From the summit, the Puerto Galera coast and the Verde Island can be seen, as well as other mountain tops from the Batangas province.
The descent is quite a breeze, especially if you are looking forward to a dip on the beach to refresh yourself.
