You can board a ferry to reach this amazing island or use a simple pump boat that is more common to access the other small islands within, such as the white island, where you can go for sunbathing or surfing in the mild waves. You can join the locals in game fishing and catch some fresh tuna and barracuda. The locals are friendly and hospitable and they can guide you around. Tuasan Falls is located 6 kilometers northeast of Catarman.
This natural attraction is still undeveloped and Kuya Criz mentioned that this particular waterfalls is more beautiful than Katibawasan, but it’s unknown to most tourists due to its inaccessibility, though when I was there, the roads were already being fixed. So was the access point going to the falls.
The water was cold and the rushing water in some areas was very strong, even deep so prepare to get wet even when you have no plans of swimming. The rocks were also slippery that twice, one of my flip-flops was swept away by the current.
By the way, I spoke with their guide and was told they were priests. Interesting.
I wanted to come close, but the falls’ impact was too strong I could feel splashes of water 5 meters from its drop. And boy, was it cold!
I must say that Tuasan Falls is a must-see when in Camiguin. Its rugged beauty is just amazing! Read More: https://thoughtstalesandwhatnot.com/2014/07/21/camiguin-tuasan-falls/
White Island is an uninhabited white sandbar located about 1.4 kilometers (0.87 mi) off the northern shore of Mambajao in the volcanic island of Camiguin in the Philippines. The island is generally horseshoe shaped, although the tides constantly resize and reshape its exact form. There is no tree or shelter of any kind, and it is composed solely of white sands.
White Island attracts thousands of tourists every year. The island can be accessed from Barangay Agoho or Brgy. Yumbing in Mambajao about 4 to 6 kilometers (2.5 to 3.7 mi) west of the Poblacion or town center. Small boats can be hired from any of the beachfront resorts that face the island.
