This is the Looc Bay Marine Refuge and Sanctuary, a protected marine area in the middle of Looc Bay. Established in 1999, it houses 100 different marine species, including four different species of giant clams, octopus, eels, reef fishes, and marine turtles.

The Sanctuary welcomes guests for swimming, snorkeling, and fish feeding. It also aims to inform the visitor of the importance of preserving marine life.

In the middle of the floating kiosk, there’s an opening for those who wish not to swim but to only interact with the fishes protected in the area.

The beautiful lighthouse in the middle of the bay adds a mysterious charm to the sanctuary. It’s said that this lighthouse dates back to World War II. And no, you can’t go near the lighthouse; this is in aid of its preservation. Like most beautiful, fragile things, we can only admire it from afar.

The Looc Bay Marine Refuge and Sanctuary is a perfect picnic spot for the family or even a group’s environmental education excursion. You can bring food and the essentials for a picnic in the floating kiosk, but make sure to leave nothing but bubbles and take nothing but memories. Looc Fish Sanctuary is located in Looc, Tablas Island. The main activity to do in Looc is visiting Looc Fish Sanctuary and it’s something we really recommend to everyone. We will tell you how to get to Looc Fish Sanctuary and things to do in Looc and around the area. Looc Fish Sanctuary is only 5 minutes walking distance from the center of the town. There are tricycles and jeepneys available from and to different destinations in Tablas Island. And boats from different points of the Philippines like Caticlan, Carabao island and Batangas also stop by here.Read More:   https://www.gamintraveler.com/2019/03/21/how-to-get-to-looc-fish-sanctuary/

The Looc Fish Sanctuary is a protected marine area in the middle of the bay at Looc town, Tablas, Romblon. The sanctuary is home to many species of fish and a nice (although not spectacular) coral reef. The local government there seems to understand the importance of tourism, and has gone to great lengths to preserve the reef and fish life, even posting guards out on the bay overnight to prevent illegal fishing in the sanctuary.

The very helpful staff in the town tourism office gave us directions to the pier from which you catch the boat to the sanctuary. The pier is only a short (200m) walk from the town square. There is an office at the pier where you pay the P100 per head fare for the boat ride to the sanctuary (no booking is necessary). You can also rent a mask and snorkel here for P50. It’s then a short (5 min) boat ride to the permanent floating shelter at the sanctuary.   Read More:   http://www.lakwatseradeprimera.com/looc-romblon-snorkeling-at-looc-fish-santuary/
