As soon as we reached the shore, I was instantly held captive by the charm of Guisi beach. The closer view was more beautiful than the view from the road uphill. I was amazed by how transparent the water was, making the rocks and pebbles underwater visible. I soon realized how Guisi Clearwater Resort got its name. The sand is not powdery like the sand of Boracay but its golden yellow color makes it unique on its own. The blue water and yellowish texture of the sand create a seascape of varying shades of green. The water was also peaceful and calm which could have been a perfect day for me to swim and snorkel.

At the right far end of the beach, beautiful rock formations caught my attention. I headed toward this side after seeing some opportunities for great seascape and landscape shots. On this part of the beach is the abundance of pebbles of varying sizes. There is also a wooden stair that leads up to Kenyama Beach Resort. I didn’t go further beyond the huge rocks because one would need to climb over these rock formations or trudge through the waist-deep water to get to the other side. Read More:

Guimaras is widely known for producing some of the sweetest mangoes in the world but other than this, little is known about its beautiful and unusual beaches like Guisi Beach in Nueva Valencia.

Little did I know that I was going to be stunned by this rocky beach in Nueva Valencia.

What’s unique about Guisi is that it features a number of rock formations that makes it a picturesque place for those who want to experience something out of the ordinary. Some of the rocks however are difficult to climb because of its naturally sharp surfaces and even the thickest calluses are not enough to protect your feet. It’s a good thing that the resort owners have added bamboo bridges making it easier to transfer from one rock to another.

There’s no doubt that Guisi is one of Guimaras’ well-kept secret. This beach may not have the powdery white sands of Boracay or the long coastlines of Cagbalete but it does have that certain beauty that can only be appreciated if you look at it without comparing to the other known beaches. Sure it doesn’t have white sand but who cares? With its crystal blue waters and jagged boulders, you certainly won’t be disappointed!  Read More:

Guisi Beach is one of my favorite destinations in Guimaras Island. For most, its main attraction is its excellent beach and clear waters but I like it most because of the 18th century Spanish colonial lighthouse and its enchanting coves and rock formations.

Their sand is not totally white … more like yellowish, which could be because of the vast limestone deposits in Guimaras . I was surprised to notice their shore getting shorter and  became more rocky.  Nevertheless, everyone can still enjoy the crystal clear and refreshing waters in Guisi.

When in Guisi, you should explore the area at the right side of the beach (best during low tide) since there are many hidden coves, small sandbars, and interesting rock formations. Me and my friends like to go cliff jumping at some of the tall rocks (just be sure to jump in an area clear of rocks).  Read More:
