Bayluhay Festival of San Joaquin, annually celebrated every 3rd week of January showcases the historic barter based on folk history of the Maragtas legend.

Bayluhay Festival is an opportunity for the people of San Joaquin to express their pride and honor, known to be progenitors of these great and noble ancient rulers of the land. Pintados de Pasi Festival

Regarded as one of the region’s most prestigious festivals and is consistently mentioned as a do-not-miss festival in Iloilo, the annual celebration of Pintados de Pasi every 3rd week of March is an amazing celebration that fosters a rich sense of cultural heritage and awareness of the town.

The festival highlight is the tribal dance competition where participants paint their body with elaborate patterns and shapes. The dance is characterized by the flow, a seamless stream of movements that emphasizes the agility of the upper body with simultaneous alternating waving of arms which are the basic movement of the Pintados dance. The dance involves leaping, turning, jumping and kicking movements of a warrior.

Paghukom Festival

Held every April 17-20, this lenten presentation depicting the judgment, crucifixion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Beginning Maundy Thursday, businesses in the Philippines either shut down operations until Black Saturday or have later opening and earlier closing times. During the Easter Triduum (usually a public holiday), some local terrestrial television and radio stations sign-off (except radio stations owned by the Catholic church). Those that do operate truncate broadcasting hours feature religious programming, films, news coverage of religious ceremonies and deviates regular programming. Many communities observe Spanish-influenced Catholic rituals such as processions, with many having been syncretised with pre-Hispanic beliefs.
