PINZAL FALLS

We went to the sanctuary but my only purpose was to see the Pinzal Falls as we did not get to see the Tappiyah Falls in the Ifugao Province. We had a tour guide Gloria. You can pay the tour guide however much you please. You won’t get lost if you went by yourself but we figured it’s a way to help the locals earn some money. To get to the falls you will need to hike about 1.5km which took us 38 minutes. We rested a few minutes halfway. There are concrete steps and a hand rail along the way but there a few spots where you will really need to cross the stream and get your feet wet a little. Some rocks are mossy and can be slippery so be careful. Gloria the tour guide said the water is bigger during the months of October to January. Along the way there’s a lot of bushes and bamboos which kind of scared me with the thought of a snake coming out but luckily nothing came out. We were lucky because when we got to the falls it was just us so we were able to take photos of just us. By the way there is an entrance fee to the sanctuary of P100.00/person. Ilagan is the capital town of Isabela, the 2^nd largest province in the Philippines. It is in this town where a great masterpiece of God’s creation is found. The Sta. Victoria caves and the magnificent Pinzal Falls.

Brand new facilities have been constructed in the Isabela Sanctuary for the comfort and pleasure of tourists. Aside from simply exploring the Sta. Victoria Caves, there are opportunities for other activities in the Isabela Sanctuary. For one, it now features a sanctuary for endangered species and a botanical garden in addition to the caves. Tourists may also go white-water rafting, cycling, and horse-back riding here as well as trekking, spelunking, and mountain climbing throughout the area. Visitors can also go swimming in the basin of the Pinzal Falls within the sanctuary. There is also an Environmental School in the sanctuary where visitors may listen to lectures, get seedlings to plant, and receive certificates.

Twenty-eight non-government organizations that are based in the area signed a memorandum of agreement in 2009 in which they pledged to take responsibility for the maintenance, protection, preservation, and nurture of the environment covered by the Isabela Sanctuary. Ilagan Sanctuary is a protected sanctuary located at Sta Victoria, Ilagan, Isabela..It is composed of Santa Victoria caves, Fuyot Springs national park and Pinzal falls. Fuyot Springs National Park is desgnated for the wildlife and gardens. Santa Victoria cave has limestones and rock formations that visitors would love to see. After some trekking, you can dip in to the basin of the Pinzal Falls.
