More than7,100 islands fall within the borders of the Philippines hotspots, identified as one of the world’s biologically richest countries. This includes over 6,000 plant species and many bird species.

The Philippine islands are divided into three groups: Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao all surrounded with water.

The Philippines lies in Southeast Asia, making it a cultural crossroads, where Chinese, Spaniards, Americans, Japanese ancestors gave the country a unique cultural and racial blend.

For almost 300 years, the Philippines was governed as a territory of the Vice-royalty of New Spain. Then, the islands were ceded by Spain to the United. In World War II, the Japanese empire invaded the Philippines. Allied troops defeated the Japanese and the Philippines finally received its independence from the Americans.

It would be very interesting to travel to the Philippines and see the multiple ethnicity and cultures that are found throughout the islands. The influence of America is undoubtedly prevalent in their lifestyle. The United States bequeathed to the Philippines the English language and a stronger affinity for Western culture. The Filipinos are in constant attempt to imitate American fashion and music!
